I have not put ice cream in the freezer. It would fit, I think. I have not noticed any dripping.

Hi Patrice- The refrigerator shelf is adjustable and can accommodate gallon and half gallon containers. Shelf dimensions are approximately 13-5/8" deep by 20" wide. You should not expect dripping from your new refrigerator when properly installed/maintained. The ice tray compartment should be defrosted when the frost on the wall becomes 1/4" thick.
