Two things: 1. Yes you do need a compatible zwave hub which then links to personal assistants like the dots, echoes or google homes. 2. This is a ADD ON switch meaning this acts as a secondary or third switch in a 3 way wiring scenario. You would need to buy the regular switch in addition to this add on for 3 way installs. If only one switch is needed, you would need the regular switch (not this add on switch).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you must have Alexa connected to a hub.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The switch is hard wired but you will want to ensure you purchase the main smart switch and not add-on switch. Add on switch is used only in cases where you have a three way switch (ie multiple switches control one light). I have mine hooked into my Samsung smartthings hub and it works perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.this switch is only the add on switch when you have a dual switch in place, like a hall light that has a switch at both ends of the hall to control the light. you have to have the main switch that is wifi capable to work with the add on switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The switch is hardwired. It must be used in conjunction with a GE In-Wall Smart Switch,or Dimmer and is not a standalone. The combination is used such as in the situation of a light switch at the top and bottom of a stairway.. It is compatible with Alexa only if you have some type of hub, such as Smartthings.
