Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can turn the plugs off independently. I use one in my living room for a lamp while other devices are plugged into the other plug. I believe you can even do the same with the USB ports but haven't attempted that. Just set up the device in whatever home network you're using (Google, Alexa) you'll be able to name each plug separately. Hope this helps.
