“If I use these with a Mavic Pro, does the my iPhone or iPad still need to be connected to the controller?”

With the Mavic Pro you do not NEED to use a phone or iPad. With that being said, it still is a good idea simply because you do not get the same HUD you do with the phone/tablet. I use my iPad when I fly with the headset just because landing / takeoff is very disorienting with the FPV display.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. If you connect wirelessly to the goggles, heads up display will be shown through the glasses. Keep in mind if you fly with the goggles, you are required to have a spotter and they will not be able to see the drone on the map as well, which also won’t display on the headset.
