It is not designed to be outdoors so even if it doesn’t get wet from rain, humidity may eventually damage it. You may want to consider an enclosure for it.

We suggest adding multiple Wifi points instead to cover the whole area or extend your Wi-Fi. As long as it is within range of your primary Nest Wifi router, your Wifi points can be connected wirelessly. Ideally, one Nest Wifi can cover up to 2,200 sqft. But where they are placed, the layout of your house, and physical obstructions like furniture can impact the total coverage.
