Pro : Easy to setup, has basic features. Good coverage and supports good speed. Can manage device level access/internet timings Cons : No direct access to configurations (can only do limited settings via app), cannot Block individual apps (can only block full device). No difect support for 2.4 ghz (needed for IoT (smart) devices but a work around is there to setup Guest Wifi and then it all works fine.

Hi there, RiteshS. We appreciate your feedback on Nest Wifi. We're happy to hear that you had an easy time setting it up and that you're getting good Wi-Fi coverage and speeds. It's unfortunate to hear that the available features and settings on Nest Wifi fell short of meeting your expectations.

Your Nest Wifi keeps it simple by automatically directing your devices to use the band that gives them the best Wi-Fi. It also uses the same name or SSID for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Based on your device capabilities and network conditions, Nest Wifi will attempt to select the band that will deliver the best performance for your device. You may connect your iOT device to the Nest Wifi Router and it will automatically assign the connection to the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

We value your feedback and we've taken the details of your feedback into consideration. If you need further assistance, our support team would be more than happy to offer a helping hand. Please reach out to us using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp Nest

I set this up as the main router for my mesh Network. Set up was easy and easily connected to two additional nodes. Management in the Google home app is a breeze. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and all the issues I had with my Linksys setup are gone.

I purchased this for my mother's house. It initially appealed to me because the setup and management would be much easier. She does not have any WiFi 6 devices in her home, hates looking at LED lights, antennas, and anything that looks like technology so this was an ideal choice for her. I just purchased it as a gift as her previous router was 12-13 years old and she did not feel any reason to replace it. Her internet speed was painful. It has gone from 23 Mbps to 218 Mbps simply by swapping out the wireless router. Range on this single router without points is also very good. I would highly recommend it to anyone not requiring WiFi 6 or a massive area to cover with signal.

Does everything I was hoping it would do. I bought this for an apartment, approx. 700 sqft so the range is more than adequate but liked the google home app features and aesthetics made it more appealing than other protruding antenna routers. I don't game, more of a light internet user, and this connects to a SB1683 modem for Xfinity and it works great for all of my needs so far. Refurbished price was tough to pass up on. A cinch to setup the network.

What a mesh product should not be

Google designed this to just work out of the box, which actually made it to not work in very basic senses a router is supposed to. 2.4GHZ devices can't connect to it without some insane luck and positioning skills. The mesh power and reliability is abysmal with frequent disconnects and connection loss between nodes. I can go on with the drawbacks of this. The only plus side is - the range when it does work. It covers my 0.5 acre property without any significant drop in speed at the edges

Have had the nest wifi system for about 3 yesrs now. This additional router gives me more coverage around my house at great speeds. Only reasons it is 4 stars its because it was “refurb” and it came super dirty and just thrown in the original packaging.

I needed to have an additional access point, so I purchased this router for the mesh setup. It's not the router that I have connected to the modem. Due to its WAN port, I use it as an acess point. The mesh can have more than one router, whereas additional routers are used as access points. Great product. It serves my needs. I recommend this ptoduct.

Overall, I really like this product. However, I was upgrading from a original Google hub and I had purchased three slave pucks to form a mesh. The Google app would not let me initiate this product until I decommissioned the original Google hub. Once you do that, it is disconnected from the system. I then tried to activate the pucks, but it wouldn’t do it and I suspect it’s because they were “affiliated” to the original Hub… BUT now that the Hub is disconnected, the Ap won’t recognize them to dissociate them from the Hub, and on to this new Router. I assume is some form of security so they don’t get stolen and reused. Very frustrating. I conceptually like the idea of all these fancy apps with nuanced controls and ability to focus the Internet on one device etc., but when it gets in the way of the usual stuff, it is so, so annoying. Specifically regarding this router, it has good range and so far it’s doing great after two months and is much smaller than the otiginal.

Ended up getting two of the routers instead of the access point kit because they are faster, even without wired backhaul. The setup is extremely easy; just use the Google Home app and follow directions. Guest network options are also available. Having only two ethernet ports is a bit limiting for those people that want to keep more things wired (mostly game consoles and the like). Also disappointing that they don't have WiFi 6, but the WiFi 5 is fast and reliable. TL/DR: easy setup, fast and reliable mesh networking, but limited options for those that are more experienced. This was a gift for parents-in-law though, so that was the idea.
