The Google Nest Mesh system is the best thing I’ve done for my home Wifi. Easy to set up, has great range, and there are so many other devices you can connect to your Google Home (lights, thermostats, water sensors)…. I’m very happy with the system and highly recommend it to everyone

I’m using this as a wired extension for my network, and it works well. This is a work around from the first system where the satellites could be wired, and makes it more expensive, but I find it worth it to ensure the backbone of the system is all wired. The app makes setup simple and easy, though hides/likes some very advanced features.

Unless you have multiple of these mesh routers, otherwise I recommend sticking to the regular routers if you don’t plan on expanding and adding more of them in the future. The connect is alright for a stand alone router. In a small to mid size home should be fine. For big homes, you better have at least 2 of these. The full price for this router is too much compare to others for how it perform.

Hello HungerArrow, thanks for sharing your feedback with us, and we hear your concerns about the performance and the coverage of the Nest Wifi.
The Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2200 sq ft. while each Nest Wifi point can cover up to 1600 sq ft.. And the placement of your Wi-Fi router (and Wifi points) is vital to have reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other. For example, if the far end of your house has weak Wi-Fi, don’t put a Wifi point in that exact spot. Instead, put it part way in that direction.
We also recommend the following steps to ensure great coverage for your Google Nest Wifi devices: - Line of sight: Points perform better when they can find each other. Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance. - Placement: Place the devices somewhere off the ground, such as on a shelf, can greatly improve coverage. - Consider the overall mesh network: Points depend on each other to provide great coverage in your home. In order to fix a particular weak point, you may need to move a different Wifi point.

Took a chance on this refurbished router since my old google one would not be supported anymore. Setting up took a while for reasons i dont know but once i got it working, its done its job well. The speeds have been stable just like the old google router. Might buy a 6e router later on.

Hi there, kafra. We really appreciate the feedback you shared about the Nest Wifi, and we’re glad that you like its quality. But we’re sorry to hear your expectations are not met. We understand that you have returned them, and if you find yourself wanting to try the Nest Wifi again in the future, we suggest checking the placements of your Wi-Fi router and point, which are vital to have reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. Points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other, where they can see each other with a clear line of sight. Barriers like heavy furniture and walls made of thick concrete or brick can affect Wi-Fi performance.

Not an Upgrade from Google Wi-Fi

I thought I upgraded from the Google Wi-Fi Router to this Google Nest Wi-Fi Router. I originally had 4 Google Wi-Fi Router/Points and used one as the router and it worked well. I needed one additional Wi-Fi point to reach into my garage better so I bought the Nest Wi-Fi Router thinking it would work better. Nope! It worked much worse. Went from all green on the built-in Mesh Test to all yellow. Not an upgrade if you ask me. Maybe, it is bad. How do I prove it? It works, but poorly!

Hi EngnrNme, thank you for sharing your review. We're sorry to learn that your experience with your Nest Wifi was less than ideal when it comes to extending your Wi-Fi signal to your garage. This is not the impression we want you to have with the new products we provide. Each Nest Wifi point can cover up to 1600 sq ft. and the Nest Wifi router itself can cover up to 2200 sq ft. If the distance from your modem to your garage is within that range, then we advise checking the line of sight for the devices to avoid obstructions that can affect the signal. If you've done this already or if the issue still persists, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Google Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

So far so good. Purchasing refurbished is kind of a gamble. This router seems to be doing it's job well. You have to use the Google Home app to set it up. I set it up as a router and used the Google AC1200 3 pack as the access points. I set the access points to use ethernet backhaul so everything is fast.

Works very well. This replaced a 1st generation Google Onhub router with 2 each 2nd generation satellites that needed frequent restarts to keep working properly. Since replacing the OnHub router and reusing the 2 2nd generation satellites it has been working flawlessly.

This thing works crazy well all by itself! I have a larger home and I can cover the entire home without using any extenders. But, it's nice to know I can very easily extend my range if needed!

Hi, Katiearney27! Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you're having some connection issues with your Nest Wifi. This is not the type of experience we want you to have, and we're here to help.
Ideally, one Nest Wifi router can cover up to 2,200 sqft. But where they are placed, the layout of your house, and physical obstructions like furniture can impact the total coverage. You can also add multiple Wifi points depending on your needs to improve signal strength and range.
