QuestionI have a water base board heating system and one of my rooms is always too hot or too cold. Will the Nest heating system balance out that room with the rest of the house if I use the Nest sensors or will it over heat the rest of the home?

- Answer we have a sensor in one room that the nest communicates with. rest of home is comfortable. if notice temp not where you like it you can tell it to change temp (we use alexa) or can manually change at the nest or on the app.

QuestionMy current thermostat is in a room rarely visited even when we are home, will Nest features work under these circumstances or will it constantly think no one is home or can I override that and if I do is this worth buying?

- Answer You can override that feature, and believe me, it worth it. If you have two thermostats, you can override one and the other one with the feature on.

- Answer Do you have smart schedule turned on? And are you using ECO mode? ECO will set to a predefined temp when it knows you are not home, and the schedule will know you once changed the temp, so will schedule that same change every day. I turn both off, don't care for the features.

- Answer Each nest is only capable of controlling 1-zone. You would need a separate. Thermostat for each zone.

Questionwe have 5 total thermostats throughout the house (3 of which are kids’ rooms). Can I buy 1 nest learning thermostat and replace the 3 kids room thermostats with the sensors as I don’t want them controlling the heat? Or do the sensors not replace thermo?

- Answer No. either you have multiple separate HVAC units each requiring their own units or you have split zone, which still require their own units. Nest sensors are more like setting up mini zones inside your already designated zone for a single unit. Example, Zone 1 in a living room and two bedrooms. The sensors would help prioritizing the temperatures in a room over the others on a schedule, like overnight. This cannot help with actual HVAC zones wired to their own thermostat.

QuestionWhy does the eco mode come on all by itself.

- Answer The eco mode can turn on both manually and automatically if you have the temperatures set to the eco zones (temps) when you set them up using the schedule. You know you are in the eco mode when you see the green leaf on the app/thermostat. I recommend playing around with your thermostat on the app or online at the the NEST website. It's very easy to figure out.

QuestionWhy does my battery seem to die so often? Does the wall base supposed to charge it? Because I have to take it off twice a day to put it on a usb cable to charge it.

- Answer Do you have a common power wire from your hvac unit? The thermostat requires constant electrical power the battery inside unit is for memory etc. If you do not have power supply in the wires, I suggest you install a transformer somewhere accessible and run power to the thermostat.
