Control it in the google app, may be able to limit it there, but certainly able to control it from anywhere in the world using that app.

Heat and cool mode: The system will either heat or cool to try to keep the home within the temperature range that you set. All thermostat models have this feature. Lock: This option is to lock your thermostat so it can only be adjusted within a certain temperature range, or to prevent unauthorized people from changing their settings on the thermostat. Lock feature is available in Nest Learning Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E models only, Hold: You can set a temperature hold for up to 24 hours for any mode. When a hold is active, you should no longer be able to manually change the temperature from the main display. This feature is only for Nest Thermostat (2020).
