• No, I ran into the same issue and had to return one of the Es I bought and get the standard Nest which worked fine.

• Go on the actual Nest website they have a section that will actually show you with a diagram if it will work with your system.

• I don't believe it works with high voltage systems but you can always check on their nest's site, they have a whole compatibility checker
