The easiest way is to go online and use the assistant. (It’s in the instructions) It will allow you to input your wires and tell you exactly where to place them as well as whether or not the thermostat is compatible with your system. If it is. It will tell which wires you can omit (if any) it makes things pretty fool proof. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are talking about the spade terminals (looks like a C), no you can't use it for the Nest thermostat unless you use a terminal block in between them both. It's just easier to cut the spade terminals off and use the bare wire. If it's not the solid copper wires but the stranded wires, it's still possible to use the stranded wires but make sure you do a clean cut. The connectors are push button connections on the Nest thermostat and need bare wires to fit into the holes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need a C wire to use this unit. Take the existing thermostat off the wall and check to see if there is a C wire connected to the existing unit. It should be labeled.
