No. Buying an unlocked phone does not lock your phone to that carrier. That's highly illegal as the carrier didn't sell you the phone on a subsidized plan. The only reason it would locked is if you opted not to pay full price up front and opted to pay for it over three years. In that case, yes the phone becomes carrier locked till paid off.

Meaning you are free to use that device with any carrier when or if you want to switch. It used to, however that promotion has passed and now no longer comes with a gift card. This promotion ended at the beginning of September with all of the other official google trade in promotions.
