- Answer The previous answer is wrong and it will work with T-Mobile right out of the box as Verizon no longer locks their phones. Verizon does use cdma technology, but the pixel has both cdma and gsm technologies.

QuestionIf I purchase at $550 (discounted via Verizon contract per-month) can I pay Verizon the balance to drop my monthly's again? Im staying with Verizon and have the $ on hand but don't feel the phone is worth the extra $100 to buy outright.

- Answer The finance agreement that results with this 24-month purchase clearly says that there is no penalty for paying off the phone early, so you should be able to pay the balance to Verizon, drop your monthly payment back to the amount without the phone payment, and be $100 ahead of the game as a result. I pre-ordered one with the intent of doing exactly that.

QuestionI just bought this phone thinking it was unlocked. Can i use this phone outside US; with a SIM card that is not from Verizon? I cannot longer cancel the order, so if it doesnt work i will need to wait until arrives to return it. Thanks

- Answer I'm using it with a swedish SIM. Remove the Verizon SIM that's in the phone before turning it on.

- Answer The phone is SIM unlocked in every case, meaning you can take it any carrier and put a SIM for it. The bootloader will be locked, which will only be important if you are trying to root the phone.

- Answer The Pixel 2 and Pixel XL can be used on all major carriers, regardless of the Verizon claim as being the preferred network. See T-Mobile website where they're urging Verizon Pixel 2 buyers to switch carriers.

- Answer Yes you can make calls with Google assistant just by saying, "Ok Google call name in your contacts." You can also text by saying the name and what message you want to send. Fast and easy.

- Answer Yes this phone is unlocked. It has a Verizon sim card and all you have to do is replace with your carriers sim and delete Verizon apps. Simple. Mine was set up and running on T-Mobile in less than 30 minutes.

- Answer I work at the Best Buy in Rockford, IL. We didn't receive a single Pixel 2 today. Which is disappointing since I pre-ordered one. Apparently not all stores are getting them at the same time. Its definitely Google's fault. I'd call your local Best Buy.

- Answer My experience in that situation was that Google tech support was very responsive. They contacted me quickly and we're very willing to help. They just couldn't do anything to help my situation so I returned the phone to Bestbuy.

- Answer My understanding is that Verizon no longer locks their phones at all. With the Pixel 2 having both CDMA and GSM capabilities, it should in theory work right out of the box on any carrier. However, as Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge once said, "There's theory and then there's application. They don't always jibe."
