• A:Answer Nothing more than you'd pay if you bought the phone directly from Verizon. I bought my phone outright from Best Buy and only had to pay a $40 activation fee from Verizon. My monthly bill didn't change.

Q: QuestionI want to upgrade from a Pixel to the Pixel 3a. Do I still need to pay Verizon the device charge for the original Pixel if I order through Best Buy? Verizon estimated that my monthly charges would be $36.66 which is more than the $16.99 advertised.

• A:Answer Best Buy offers lower monthly payments on their devices as opposed to Verizon - I always recommend getting your new phone through Best Buy. Verizon will still charge you a $40 activation fee for the new device, but if you call and nicely ask them to remove the charge they will.
