“I have the basic gopro Hero that was the cheapest one they used to sell. Will the remote work with this one? And do you need wifi to be able to use the remote or if I were at a beach for example would I be able to use it in the water with the remote”

• the camera, and the controller connect to each others wifi.. you dont need your hotel or phone wifi for this. should work fine.

• The Evo comes with a Remote Clip, however the Smart Remote is sold separately by GoPro. The GoPro Smart Remote connects to the GoPro camera, so you do not need Wi-Fi to use the remote. - Justin
