“Is there an external longer life battery for this unit if so is it waterproof and can I record while using external battery”

• Yes, Digipower makes one sold by Best Buy for around 60 dollars and is water proof at 33ft. Quite the deal. And also yes, you can record while the unit is charging.

• There is not an additional external battery that can be used with the HERO7 Black that would allow the GoPro to remain waterproof.
