• No. The mower requires the boundary wire. If you want to do it yourself Greenworks makes a battery powered self-propelled mower for half the price.

• Hello C - The boundary wire sends a signal to the robotic lawnmower telling it which areas are to be mowed and which are not. You must use the boundary wire to map out your lawn otherwise, the mower has no guide as to where it should stay.
