The dryer is a condenser type. No matter what setting you use it will take quite a lot longer to dry clothes that in a conventional electric or gas dryer.

Please try again later.It takes longer to dry because it is a ventless system but even though it takes longer it uses only about a third of the electric used for a vented dryer if you set it to the 3 hours it will adjust itself for less time as it drys - it seems to sence the drying of the cloths.

Therefore, if you need to dry your clothes in your combo washer dryer, it is recommended that you reduce the load by about half the amount of clothes. Approximately 2.5 lbs. of clothes is the proper load size for drying. However, this unit uses ventless condensate-type drying rather than using warm air drying. You may not experience the same type of drying as with a standard "hot air" dryer. - TREY@HAIER
