Our first on was a bout 2-3 years old and it started brewing water on the Kcup side when a pot was made. We used this daily and stuff does wear out. It was time for a new one as even the bottom where the pot sits was beat up and worn out. We could have got something different but this does so much and it is so convenient. Just could not change. Too happy with it.

No harm in cleaning it with vinegar: let half of vinegar 'brew through' and turn it off for a while, then turn it on again so the rest goes through. Pour carafe of water in a couple more times to rinse. In other words, if you have certain kind of water, possible it's plugged up with deposits ....idk.
