“I purchased a Lenovo Flex 4-1470 from Best Buy which was an open box with manufacturers warranty. Though I could install a memory upgrade myself, I see on Lenovo's forums that doing so voids the warranty. If BestBuy installs 8GB SODIMM is warranty good?”

I SPOKE WITH LENOVO TECH SUPPORT AND LEARNED THAT THE GEEK SQUAD IS AN AUTHORIZED AGENT FOR REPAIRS WHICH WOULD INCLUDE INSTALLING RAM.

You’ll want to check with your local Geek Squad precinct to see if this is something they’re able to do. They should also be able to go over any warranty implications specific to your model. If you do get the upgrade be sure to hold on to your original RAM, as you’d need to put that back in should you ever need to send the computer out for service under Lenovo’s warranty.
