Yes and depends on the app you want if its not on the google play app on there you can side load it ( download apk or the app to your phones google drive and you can open it with a file view on tv and download it like that. I did this with the xbox game pass and hooked my bluetooth controller to my tv.

Simply scroll down to the bottom the the app list and you will see the Google play store. Then just select it and scroll through the list of apps available. Simply select the app you desire and select install.
