“The system is a smart television so what if it that is being used on the television to access online content. Its not Amazon Fire, Chromecast or Roku so what is the operating system used. Also, why no Hulu. It doesn't get all online content?”

The TV's operating system is OperaTV to the best of my knowledge. That said you will need a streaming device as the unit's built in apps and app store are limited. Hulu, CBS All Access for example are not available.
