Probably would work in humidity of less than 80% to knock off about 10-15°F. Would not expect it to keep up with monsoons/ high humidity and volume greater than 600sqft.

If you live in a dry area I would recommend taking a look at evaporative air coolers. Evaporative Air Coolers are ideal for dry climates with humidity of less than 60%. They also require windows to be open for cross ventilation to allow the warm and cool air to circulate. Air Coolers are an upgrade from a traditional fan.
