The 7500 BTU given is the new SACC (DOE 2107 Standard) BTU value. The "traditional" BTU value of the system is closer to 14,000. I am not a professional AC technician, but it seems that the lower number tries to take into account the fact that portable AC units usually have an inherent design flaw of pushing air outside of the house, causing negative pressure that result in air from outside finding its way in - reducing the effectiveness of the unit. However, I don't think this take into account the fact that this is a dual hose unit, which basically makes that problem go away. I think
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The unit i have is 14000 BTU, not 7500. And it cools an insulated 2 car garage in less than an hour. I would contact the store directly to insure the model number matches the output it is claiming. You may have seen a misprint.
