• Hi, You do need to vent the exhaust hose out a window. The unit comes with the parts depending on the window size etc. Hope this helps.

• It requires a window to vent exhaust out through a hose and comes with a kit to set up a port in a sliding window frame. I personally had to buy a separate kit to set up the vent hose for a sliding glass door because I don't have a sliding window the hose can reach.

• Hi my husband purchased it two weeks ago. You do not need a window, the unit will stand wherever you want it and work fine. It blows nice cold air, and you can adjust how cold you want it.
