• Yes place the motor to the side remove pail empty put right back on the pail and motor fits perfectly

• First unplug the shredder. Of course you need to take the lid off with both hands. Easy maneuver straight up and down and make sure to move the lid back and forth. Which means it's secured. After emptying it.

• the entire top lift off from the bin and I pull out the plastic bag of shredded paper and put it in the garbage -easy job . I love the paper shredder.
