Is it self--evaporating? null

You need to drain water into something every 30min.so it doesn't shut off. Unless you put the hose (included) in drain hole and let it be able to drain continuously while running. . This is what was said in manual and it did state it accurately. Honeywell Portable air conditioner 14000 btu.
