• This thermostat connects to the internet via your home Wi-Fi network. The outdoor temperature displayed on the screen is what the weather service is reporting for your location.

• Hi Kenn, thank you for reaching out to us. The RTH9585WF thermostat is not compatible with sensors. Once this thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and registered under your account for remote access, it will take the outdoor temperature information from AccuWeather based on the location address.- Maria
