“What is the difference between the Honeywell RTH9580WF and RTH9585WF? Amazon states 9585 is newer model but I can't identify any upgrades or changes. I need to know before determining which one to purchase.”

• The only upgrade is the background can change colors. This all I have found thus far.

• Hi HoneyLover! The Honeywell Smart Color Thermostat (RTH9585WF) is specifically a retail model only. The RTH9580WF is a retail version of a different thermostat we sell that is trade only. The only difference is in the appearance of the display; they are both capable of controlling the same types of equipment. I hope you found this helpful! Thank you.
