It keeps dropping WiFi signal even with a extender . null

I have not had that problem with mine. That sounds like a problem with your Wifi provider.

I recently got this about three weeks ago and have not had any issues. However the thermostat and router are only about 10 feet apart and on the same floor. Not sure if you can move your router or it could be a defective one. If you can exchange it, I would give it another shot because having the WiFi option is really nice especially if you come home at different times of the day and using schedule doesn’t quite work for you.
