“The manual indicates that there are 2 "AA" batteries needed for operation - but I can't find any instructions on where the batteries are located or how to replace. Are the batteries installed on the back or the side? Also, what are the batteries for?”

• This model does not use batteries, the unit is powered from the C-wire. -Joey

• There is no need of 2 AA battery, all it need was C wire to power up the thermostat.
