Yes, this thermostat is hardwired. What's not hard wired is the connection to your internet which allows changing temperatures, vacation hold, etc. while on the go via your phone app or logging into your computer. Display also shows outside temperature and humidity. A good unit but don't expect it to last for years and years. I've had to replace but went with same unit as it is easy to use and like the device.

Yes. Thermostat has to be hardwired in. However, it comes with very clear instructions on how to connect the wires. Your system must have a "C" wire in order to install. It can be used on straight cool or heat pump systems but not on baseboard systems.
