Yes, I have this thermostat installed on two heatpump systems that have Aux heat coils. My systems have an automatic low outdoor temperature cut out relay that cuts off the heatpump and energizes the heating coils whenever there is a demand for heat and outdoor temperature is below 27 degrees. When outdoor temperature goes back above 30 degrees, it switches back to the heatpump. The thermostat can also be set to emergency heat in case there is a problem with the heatpump itself. My thermostats have wires connected to the following points: C R Y G O E/Aux During the thermostat setup, you will be prompted with questions regarding Y, O and E/Aux, I chose the default prompts and my systems work fine.
