“I have a Honeywell VisionPRO series thermostat with Redlink that requires a gateway to connect with the internet. I would like to replace it with a Honeywell smart thermostat to avoid purchasing a gateway. Is there an advantage to the Redlink system?”

Hi, the only advantage would be that it is a wireless connection in case that you don't have enough wires to run to your thermostat. So if you have enough wires to run to your thermostat from your system you should be fine.
