In the pic. You’re showing the white wire (heat) and the red wire (24 volt Alternating current) Your current set up is for heat only, you should have a yellow wire (a/c) Green wire (ground) total of four at the minimum. Mine had six total wires, plus the jumper wire that is supplied. The instruction were clear, at least to me. The new Honeywell does NOT have OR NEED batteries. Once your new unit is installed follow the instruction to get the app after that programming is easy. Good luck, your local A/C repair company should be able to install this if you don’t feel comfortable doing it. Also big plus is the rebate

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.They provide detailed instructions on how to wire your thermostat given the wires that your home was installed with. The most important one is the "C" wire. If you do not have that, the instructions give you a work-around. You may have unused wire(s) that are typically wrapped around the ones that are used and you cannot see them until you remove the old backplate from your previous thermostat.
