A:AnswerMy son installed this. He is 20. He has knowledge on installing thermostats. You will need 5 wires one being a "c" wire. I am sure if you watch youtube videos you could figure it out. I am not savvy about these kinds of things. You will love the thermostat.
A:AnswerThe answer I received did not answer my question. I asked if this thermostat would work on an air conditioner that does not have a heat pump and the answer was yes, it will work on one with a heat pump.
A:AnswerI believe so. I have installed two of these thermostats and the available wiring was different for each installation. I did not have a "C" wire for the second installation and chose to call the Honeywell help line. The person I spoke to was knowledgeable and provided meaningful guidance on connecting the stat. I recommend you call Honeywell and discuss with them

However, the only issue I've seen is that if you do not have a "common" wire coming from your current furnace you will need to either to run one or the other option is to use a separate 24v transformer to power up the thermostat,

A:AnswerIt may be that it know how long it will take to get to desired temp for the time you have sent. The time you set is how warm/cold the house will be so it will come on early to achieve that goal.
