However, it will not get rid of the source of the allergens, and we would advise making sure this unit is only used in a room it is sized for, for maximum effect. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We have three adult cats. Before purchasing this Honeywell air purifier I had issues with dust and cat hair. It’s at a minimum. We use this in a 10x20 room with no problem. We purchased this about 7 months ago. It has a high and lower setting, and you can extend the black charcoal filters a bit longer by vacuuming them, but we replace them about every 8 weeks. The indicator light will tell you when it has to be replaced.

I have friends that are mildly allergic and this would probably be enough for them but I also have friends that have terrible adverse reactions to going into a house where cats are no longer even there and still they react. best to let them decide on how much risk they are willing to take.
