It is very easy to maintain and doesn't require any tools or even a lot of dexterity to clean and change the filters. The smaller filters, which are still about 6" x 8", have tabs on them to make it easier to pull them out.

To clean the exterior, you only need to wipe the outside of the unit with a dry cloth. The filters are easy to remove and have tabs to help remove them from the unit.
