I chatted with Best Buy and was told the difference was in available speeds. On the HPA300VP model is shows it having only 3 speeds while the HPA300 model showing it has 4 speeds. I also seen that as being the main difference besides a few others difference in item descriptions that I blame on Best Buy. Still Best Buy told me the 4 speed model would likely be the better model in terms of performance. So I decided to call Honeywell and ask the company reps themselves. Honeywell customer service told me that there was no difference what so ever in the models, both were the exact same thing. I told him Best Buy pointed out the speed difference and even had it in their product description. Again the guy told me there’s no difference. He told me both products had indeed 4 speeds. He added that different stores have different letters on the same Honeywell product. So I’m still kinda confused. Still I believe Honeywell because I myself have caught and seen numerous product discription errors from the Best Buy website. Best Buy does a horrible job in providing accurate product information.
