• I wouldn't use it just to vacuum because it's not doing well like that it's getting clogged up with pet hair whenever I tried it.

• It could be but I would buy a vacuum cleaner rather than wear out my carpet shampoo machine. The vacuum cleaner is set up to just vacuum where this one has many more parts that are on it and not being used if you just use it to vacuum. It would also be difficult to clean it after just a dry vacuum with it. The life of the cleaner is keeping it clean after each use.

• Unfortunately no, it's not designed to pick dirt. It's only function is to soak and scrub carpet clean while sucking the excess water. I hope this helps.
