The hose that's attached to the base where the brush turns gets connected to the hose on the side. And that gets attached to the handle part that comes out of the vacuum by pushing the little green button on the back side by the handle.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The one hose on the side is just there for storage. Take it off, disconnect the other hose from the base, and plug it into the first hose. Then pull the handle off (it doubles as a wand) and attach it to the end of the 2 connected hoses. You can then put the smaller attachments onto the end of the wand (handle). It's now ready to go.
