“The claim is that this vacuum adjusts to the carpet height, but ours doesn't move on the carpet, just has a really strong suction and doesn't go anywhere. Why buy a vacuum cleaner that only works on SOME of your carpeting but not all of it? Suggestions?”

It doesn’t adjust for carpet at all. Low pile is impossible, while higher pile is hit or miss.
