Q: QuestionIs this unit jetted for Lp or natural or does it include both jets
Asked by stove.
- A:Answer Hi - Yes, all of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas; however, they also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) or included with the LP kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. Check out Hotpoint® 1.6 Cu. Ft. Q: QuestionDoes the oven use a glowbar to ignite, or spark ignition?
Asked by Jabsher.
- A:Answer Hi Jabsher, thanks very much for reaching out! When you select BAKE, the burner (glo-bar) below the floor of the oven is ignited; there is typically no top heat from the broil glo-bar while baking. In BROIL, only the top glo-bar is ignited. Most gas ovens are set up to broil with the oven door closed. When broiling it is not uncommon for the gas to cycle off and on, even if set at the 550 degree setting. This is normal and will not affect your broiling performance. The oven temperature light will also cycle on and off. This is also true of models with in-drawer broiling. Since this is a gas range, it would use a glo-bar in the oven. The cooktop burners use electrical ignition to light the gas as it comes out of the burner. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

Q: QuestionMy stove was disconnected from the gas line for painting, but when it was reconnected only the stove was lit. How do I light the oven?
Asked by JoJo.
- A:Answer Hi - Thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty you're having using your oven. It is possible the gas to the oven burners was inadvertently shut off. The oven gas shut-off is located on the gas regulator near the gas line attachment to your range. Locate it and flip the lever. A diagram of the regulator can be found on page 21 of the owner's manual which is available online. If you continue to have difficulty, we recommend calling an authorized servicer to take a look at your range. If needed, you may call 1-800-432-2737 to schedule a service appointment to do so. We do hope this helps. Kind regards - Vikki@Hotpoint

Q: QuestionHow do I know when the oven is to the correct temperature? There is no digital reading or light to show when oven has reached preheated temperature.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hey there, and thanks for contacting us. We certainly understand your concern over making sure the oven is at the correct temperature. Depending on the specific model, our ranges may have a preheat indicator light, audible preheat signal, or there may not be a specific preheat indicator. If your model doesn’t have an indicator, we would suggest waiting approximately 10 to 20 minutes to allow the oven to preheat; this time can vary depending on your model. We hope this is helpful. If you have any other concerns or questions, we’re always happy to offer assistance – best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Q: Questiondoes this have a pilot light?
Asked by excellent.
This question was asked about the related product: Hotpoint - 4.8 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range
- A:Answer Hi there, Great question! This model gas range has what is called an automatic pilotless ignition. The automatic pilotless ignition (also called automatic electric or automatic electronic ignition) eliminates the need to light the burners. It also saves money by using less gas than a standing pilot range. Because this system has no standing pilot light, no gas is being used unless it is needed. We hope this helps. Stay well! Mike@GEA

Q: QuestionI know I need a 3 prong power cord for this. What amperage power cord is needed? I’m seeing some that are 50 amps and some that are 40 amps.
Asked by raaa.
This question was asked about the related product: Hotpoint - 4.8 Cu. Ft. Freestanding Gas Range
- A:Answer This is a gas range which uses electricity only for igniting the burners; because its electricity demand is so low, it only needs a 15 amp or 20 amp circuit, with an outlet able to accept standard hot, neutral and ground prongs. The stoves you saw which require 40 or 50 amps are those which heat with electricity - a much higher demand - not with gas.
