• XL is the best deal, regular next and the muti-pack has the least amount of ink. The latter is better if you are just printing photo and usually come with photo papper.

• The XL cartridges last much longer than the regular ones. I also think the regular ones last longer than the ones sold in the multi-pack photo kits.

• I always buy HP original ink, the 600 page size for black. If you purchase the multi pak with all colors and photo paper, you will find the number of pages per cartrige less than those bought alone. I have never tried the refilled off-brand ink.

• This is the 02 black cartridge. By setting you printer, resolution at a low setting your ink will last longer.

• Sorry I don't know, other than cartridge by it's self has more ink than when you buy the set of colors & Black. Told to me by salesperson.
