It's a very good, low price chromebook. You probably won't be able to install Word on it, but you can use Word online, and of course it's set up for Google docs right away. It's designed for mostly online work using online apps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been told by many people that it may not be sufficient for college work. You can't use Microsoft products on it, but Google has its own, very similar products, like Google Docs and Google Sheets, and you can usually open Microsoft-based files in Google products, although you may lose some functionality (it may not do exactly the same things). If you aren't able to find a used laptop that runs Windows, this may or may not work. If your college uses Blackboard, I was told that Google Chrome doesn't always work very well with that application.

You can download a free version of Microsoft Word (android version) through Google Play store that comes with the laptop. You can also use Google Docs online for free. These also have great battery life, so you can take it with you fully charged and it should last all day!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This does not have Word or PowerPoint. Because it is a Chromebook, you need to have a gmail account to log in each time you use it. If you need Word and PowerPoint, look into getting an Outlook email account. It's free and will allow you to access basic versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel online. This could work for us as a laptop for college. Just know that it is basic and I have tried to suggest ways to access programs that you may still need to use.
