If you close the laptop at any time without choosing any power options, it puts the Chromebook straight to Sleep mode. To shut it down, all you have to do is exit or minimize any windows you have open, where you're now viewing your computer wallpaper, click on your Google profile icon on the bottom right corner of the screen, and click the Power on/off icon next to the lock icon. It shuts down instantly within seconds. Hope this was helpful.

Please try again later.Click on the icon in the lower righthand corner...you will get a pop up menu with "sign out" at the top...click on "sign out"...the screen will go black then come up again...in the lefthand corner you will have an option to shut down...click on "shut down" and it will shut off. Close the computer. The next time you open it up, you will have the sign in page. Hope this helps...
