Yes, it will, but be aware that some apps and services won't work. One option is to turn on the "hotspot" feature on your phone. That will create a portable WiFi network that you can use to put the computer online.

I purchased this device to have a seperate-from-work computer (I mostly use APPLE devices) and for that it's great... with that since I also am security conscious, my home WIFI has a GUEST login that is separate from my regular home login and I have to 1) turn it on with my phone before using the guest wifi, and 2) it automatically shuts off in 4 hours. SO when I turn on the Chromebook I have VERY REDUCED use of it until I turn on WiFI. It works so much better with a WIFI connection and terribly not as well without.
