I switched out S-mode. Installed additional 4GB memory by Crucial for $20 (so now it has 8GB in total) and I installed Google Chrome, Whatsapp, iTunes and Adobe Photoshop. I run all together, but PC doesn't get slow. BTW, it boots in 10 sec.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Switching out of S mode allows you to download more programs, this is what eats memory. Windows 10 itself uses 2 gig, so it doesn't take much to eat up the rest. There is a second ram slot, which I added an 8 gig stick to equal 12 gigs memory..this is more than enough. It uses a ddr4..2666, but I found a 2400 in stock and tried it..it worked fine. The 2666 vs 2400 refers to ram speed. The computer come with 2666, adding a 2400 will bring the 2660 down to 2400, this is basically negligible for average user. Installing it is fairly easy. Look on youtube first, there are a few videos that show the process. You'll need a small screwdriver that fits the screws, once opened the ram slips right in. I would suggest not putting the bottom case completely back together..you can start the computer making sure it's working properly first. This way if for some reason there's a problem you don't have to take things apart all over again. If thing are working properly just open task manager to make sure it shows 12 gigs ram and you are ready to go.....
