• I purchased this laptop about two weeks ago. I haven’t had it long so I don’t know tons about it yet, but the first thing I did on day one when when I was setting it up was disable S-mode. I use trend micro as my internet security, and to install it I needed to disable S-mode. Very simple to do.

• Yes. Microsoft has a set of simple instructions (it's three steps long) for taking the computer out of S Mode. As long as it's in S mode, you can only download apps from the Windows Store
