• once you attempt to install anything that is either not pre-installed or you could get from the Microsoft store (eg, Chrome browser), you'll have the option to permanently opt out of S mode. this is irreversible.

• Yes. The computer ships with Windows 11 in S Mode, but you can easily convert it to Windows 11 Home. The instructions for doing it are at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/switching-out-of-s-mode-in-windows-4f56d9be-99ec-6983-119f-031bfb28a307#WindowsVersion=Windows_11
